Our partnership with Beamery goes back to 2021, when we first joined forces to launch a new website ahead of their Spark Live event. To support their next growth chapter, Beamery chose to replatform their website to Astro, a modern framework designed for speed and scalability. This transition coincided with a major product launch and brand repositioning, making it essential to align strategy, technology, and design from day one.

Leveraging a long-standing collaboration and deep understanding of Beamery’s digital ecosystem, we defined the right technical direction, developed a new high-performance frontend, and migrated the content model while keeping Contentful as the headless CMS.

When “good enough” starts holding you back 

Beamery’s Gatsby website had served them well, but it was starting to become a bottleneck. Build times were slow, SEO performance lagged, and making updates took longer than it should. 

Behind the scenes, the numbers told the same story: 

  • Engagement metrics were becoming stagnant. 

  • Average session duration and pages per session were lower than expected. 

  • Demo requests weren’t matching expectations. 

And with Gatsby’s acquisition followed by de-investment, there was a growing concern that future updates on Netlify would become difficult. Standing still wasn’t an option,  Beamery needed a faster, more reliable frontend to match their ambitions and mitigate business risk. 

Rebranding meets replatforming 

Beamery was entering a new chapter: a major product launch and a full brand repositioning. Their website needed to reflect this shift: strategically, technically, and visually. 

The objectives were clear: 

  • Business: Increase demo requests through improved SEO and user experience. 

  • Technical: Boost engagement metrics and significantly reduce build times. 

  • Strategic: Launch a refreshed, more engaging Beamery brand online. 

By aligning the new frontend launch with the broader brand repositioning and product launch, Beamery ensured that their digital presence would reflect the company’s evolving story from day one. Beamery didn’t need a new CMS, they were already using Contentful as their headless backend. What they needed was a faster, leaner frontend. 

We recommended migrating from Gatsby to Astro. A modern framework that offered lightning-fast performance, lean asset delivery, and a smooth migration path. Astro’s architecture gave Beamery exactly what they needed:
